Reggie was not the center of attention during the NBA Draft 1987. 10 players were selected before the Indiana Pacers chose Miller draft with pick 11. I was surprised because he did not know much about this franchise and Pacer fans were not quite happy with this choice, because Indiana does not draft the local star Steve Alford.
It was not long for Miller to earn a little respect from the fans as Reggie progressed rapidly and by its 3rd season and averaged 24.6 points per game and remains the highest average score of his career. Reggie hit more and more groups of three each year and in 1992-93 set a new franchise record with 167 three-pointers.
